Modification regarding the file inactivity regulations for Collector's accounts. The guaranteed storage time of a file after the last download (or after the upload, if a file has never been downloaded) will be lowered to 60 days on January 1st, 2010.

Please note that Premium accounts whose files use more than 50 GB of storage are subject to the same storage rules as Collector's accounts.

ImageBam is currently in read only mode.

What is going on?
Dear ImageBam members,

recently we have had a high number of down times. Actually the system is in read only mode right this moment. Images can currently be viewed but the rest of the site is in maintenance mode.

ImageBam uses a database to store and quickly access important data. This database is stored on multiple servers. One being the "master server" and others being the "slave server". The "master server" is a powerful machine that usually takes over almost all of the work. Data can only be written to the master server that then passed the changes along to the slave server.

In the past month we had multiple issues with the replication (passing along the data from the master to the slave server). In addition it seems that the file system has become inconsistent on the master server forcing us to run some more checks.

In order to guarantee that your data is safe we had/have to perform theses checks that sometimes cause a downtime over a couple hours.

We will reorganize our infrastructure as needed to prevent any further outages as you have seen them.
